Ready to grow your TOPS community while spreading holiday cheer? As we enter this season of gratitude and the final two months of our "4 or More in 2024" challenge, your chapter can make a meaningful impact while showcasing what makes TOPS unique. Bring these ideas to your next chapter meeting and discover new ways to share the TOPS difference with potential members.
Consider a community health collaboration.
Invite a registered dietitian, physician, physical therapist or other healthcare practitioner to speak at one of your meetings this month. Check with your local hospital, public health department, provincial health authority, university extension or physical therapy office to see if speakers are available. Topics may include:
- Healthy holiday cooking modifications
- Stress management during the holidays
- Emotional wellness and seasonal mood changes
- Managing diabetes or pre-diabetes
- Setting realistic health goals for the new year
- Active aging and fall prevention
- Joint-friendly winter exercise options
Make it a special meeting by inviting friends, family and community members to attend. Add a little seasonal flare by serving hot cider or tea and encouraging participants to wear their favorite holiday sweater.
Support your local Turkey Trot.
Volunteer to hand out water at a community fun run or walk! Or invite members and friends to participate in a walk together. Sporting a cozy TOPS hoodie, sweatshirt or hat-scarf combo will keep you warm while showcasing your chapter's spirit.
Give back, get healthy.
Organize a volunteer day at a local food bank or community kitchen. Invite potential members to join your chapter for this meaningful activity. It's a perfect way to demonstrate how TOPS members support each other and their community.
The holiday season offers countless ways to connect with potential new members while giving back to our communities. Share your chapter's "4 or More in 2024" activities and photos by emailing marketing@tops.org.
Let's finish 2024 strong!
